Fire department on fire: How the 'hallo.feuerwehr' TikTok campaign wins new members (Reference)
How can you attract new members to the fire department? The number of fire department members in Germany is falling and the challenge of recruiting new members is greater than ever. The Rhineland-Palatinate Fire Brigade Association (LFV RLP) supports its member associations in recruiting new members, and we help the LFV RLP to translate these efforts into the language of social media.
hallo.feuerwehr makes volunteering easy & understandable
The LFV RLP reached its limits when it came to social media, as the association already existed before social media was even an issue. Nevertheless, social media has become indispensable, especially when it comes to recruiting young talent and recruiting members in general.
The motivation behind the campaign is clear: fire departments urgently need new members in order to be able to guarantee effective protection of the population in the future. But what is the best way to appeal to young people in order to arouse their interest in the fire department?
💡The solution: TikTok
In addition to the association's own activities on social media, this gave rise to the idea of creating an approachable and easily accessible channel for the general public. With a focus on Instagram and TikTok, the campaign name "hallo.feuerwehr" was created, which uses entertaining 9:16 content to bring users closer to the world of the fire department.
💪🏼 The implementation: modern, entertaining video content
The implementation of the campaign was crucial to its success. By working with the client LFV RLP, we were able to use sound expert information to produce content that not only entertained but also informed. We then translated this content into engaging and entertaining videos that were specifically tailored to the target audience.
The variety of content played a key role in the appeal of the campaign. From videos showing how fire departments work in other countries to text content about everyday fire hazards such as the fridge or hairdryer, there was something for everyone. This varied content helped the campaign to appeal to a wide audience and achieve a high interaction rate.
The goal: to inspire more people to join the fire department
